A nice walk

Today we went for a walk. Robyn in her walking shoes and I on dad's bike. the wind howled like a madman, the cold nipped at our faces and froze them off. We got to a section in the walk where we had to go up a steep icey embankment. robyn walked into the bush and I rode up the ice. We both made it home ok and still alive in most extremities, however Robyns detour caused a large laceration in her shin. Blood was gushing out everywhere and freezing in the air, that is why we never saw it untill we came into the house and thawed out. Luckily there is Doctors in the family because she needed stitches.

On a different note, last night Robyn went to this really expensive restaurant and ordered a salad. It came out on a huge massive plate, but the salad was like three leafs and two strips of beef. She was unsatisfied with dinner but paid like 30 bucks for it. so retarded!!! After she went to the ballet, the Nutcracker... after 15 minutes libby started to have some trouble... she had a kidney infection and started to get a fever and have contractions... she couldnt breath and cried. Robyn had to rush her to the hospital and she got hooked up to the iv and all that... Sean met her there and Robyn met me at libbys and I drove her home...

All Alone

I (DAN) am alone now at the house. Robyn has gone to california for her baby shower and left me here all alone. So I am trying to stay busy. I was supposed to work a little today but its been pouring rain for hours, so unless it slows down a bit I dont want to leave the house. I have been making some home movies/slideshows and trying to post them but the computer keeps freezing. anyways you can always check the other blog where I write about my training. later...

Ode to the Coqui Frog

So I thought I should post a pic of the little frogs that make where we live so loud. They are so tiny yet have such a loud chirp. So this is what you hear when you call us at night. These are the reason I am always saying What? on the phone. They seem to be amplified when I am on the phone. I don't think any of our visitors actually saw one but they sure heard them!!

Happy Turkey Day

Hope everyone had a good Turkey Day! We had a nice sunny beach day over here. Dan went surfing later in the day and I just hung out on the beach and got even tanner. We cooked an 8lb turkey along with stuffing, roasted potatos and onions, green bean casserole, sparkling apple cider and of course pumpkin pie for dessert. This was our first Turkey Day actually spent together. I left Dan in Fiji last year and went to the mainland for Turkey Day. We had a fun day and Dan even had a turkey feast for the kitters!!

Surfing Melia

This is the crib bedding Dan surprised me with a few weeks ago. He found it on line and ordered it. I had my eye on something else but when this got here I really liked it. Now I just have to find sheets and blanket to go with it. I want to get a surfboard shaped rug to put in there and these cute surfboard shelves and corkboard for pics. Dan is already talking about making Melia a little surfboard!! Thanks for the great surprise, Dan! It looks awesome. Sorry the pics are a little blurry. I don't feel like going and taking more and re posting them!

Surfing Day

So last Sat Dan and I went to the beach so he could surf and I could catch some rays. This is where Dan and Mike surfed and tore up some waves. I had never been here and it was a pretty cool spot. You can see this spot on the way out of Hilo crooing the first bridge. After this beach we went to another one nearby where we swam around although I didn't get any pics of that one. I think I saw Dan catch a few waves but I wasn't really sure if that was him. It was a great day and really made me appreciate the beauty of where we live.

More cute trip pics

Here are some pics of Nash with the kitters toys. He loved playing with their toys and loved just watching them. I think they were trying to figure out why this little person had their toys!! it was so cute and I love these pics. So I think everyone can start shopping at Petco for Nash! Also some good ones of Karyn and Mike the night they went out on the town! I can't believe that went by so fast!

Morrills in Hawaii

A week ago my sis and her husband, Mike, and Nash aka Potatos came to Hawaii. As you recall Mike gave Karyn a surprise trip to Hawaii for her b'day. It was so much fun! I went and picked them up in Kona where we stayed in a condo for a few nights. Dan finally got to meet the famous Potatos who I talk about constantly. Dan and Mike went golfing up in Waimea and Mike was kicking butt! We all went snorkeling a few times and hung out at the beach. Nash loved the ocean and sand!!! AS you can see in the pic he loved the taste as well. It was so cute. The first day at the beach Mike had Nash out in the water while we all looked on. We see a pretty big size wave coming in and Mike turns toward the beach. Well the wave goes over them both and Karyn is screaming!!! I run over to her b/c she has started to cry being so scared. She yells That's it! Get out!! Nash is still sucking on his binky smiling when we see them emerge!! It was so funny!! We took them out to eat by the Hilo Bay over here and Dan took Mike surfing over in Hilo. Dan and I watched over Potatos one night while Karyn and Mike went out to a nice restaurant in Waikoloa Village. I think poor Nash was afraid when he awoke to 2 strangers but we had a fun night with him. He is the cutest, happiest little boy. We are so happy they got to come and visit for a week. The house is too quiet now!! We love you all and miss you and thanks for the great time!!! I will post more pics when I get them!

Kitters Pics

I just wanted to put up some cute pics of our little kitters. Mailo seemed to take quite nicely to the crib that was full of trash. I am afraid Melia will be sharing her bed with him!!

Halloween and is that you Puppy Scuppy?

Last night we carved our pumpkin...well Dan carved while I watched in awe. Well I designed it and Dan carved it. We didn't think we were going to have trick or treaters and we had no candy so we had to give away Dan's chocolate bars. So we ran up to the store and got some candy. Only 2 other groups came but it was a rainy night. Anyway we wathced Dancing with the Stars and we are totally for Emmitt Smith so everyone needs to vote for him on Tuesday nights. So my mom met Puppy Scuppy while she was here in Sept. I think she grew fond of him. I mean who doesn't love Scup? So one of Dan's presents he got from my mom was this beautiful chef hat all for Scup. He loves to cook!! Enjoy the pics! Oh, make sure you look closely at the what is written on Scup's hat!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAN!!

I just wanted to wish Dan a Happy 27th Birthday!!!!For his birthday dinner last night we went to none other than...Maui Taco for mexican food, of course. For those of you who don't know...the kitters were his early b'day present so thank goodness they turned out to be great kittens b/c he cannot return them!! Happy Birthday, Dan!!!!

The Belly

Here are some pics of my expanding belly!!! This is at 23 weeks. Mind you I just ate dinner so I could be a bit bloated! HAHA Lsst night Melia was doing karate in my belly and Dan could totally feel her and we, for the first time, saw my belly move when she kicked! It was so cool!

More fun times, cont'd

I wanted to write a bit more about Lynne's visit here and put up a few more pics. I need to do that with my mom's visit too but that requires scanning of pics which I am not sure about doing right now!! So when Lynne was here we stayed in Kona a few nights before she left. We had fun going to the beach there but I think Lynne had the biggest hit of all. The waves were crashing at a nice size and I am very good and getting myself slammed onto the beach like a limp doll. So Lynne and Dan decide to go out for a dip in the water and float in the raft. Well I am on shore and I see some waves coming in and I think Oh, no!! Well I guess Lynne asks Dan what do I do when a wave comes? Dan says turn around and put your back into it. Dan forgets to tell her to duck under the wave. So I see Lynne turn around and then I don't se Lynne. Needless to say Lynne does not get slammed but she does get a bit of a ride on the wave. There is a pic of right after. It was fun and I luckily had no crashing experiences. I just thought it was a cute story to tell. She will love me for telling these but also...we were walking down a sidewalk slope that was lined with a stone wall...well I trun around to see Lynne run right into it...She calmly says Oh sorry I was just looking at those lesbians over there! It was the funniest thing. Anyway it was a blast and we can't wait to see you in December!! Thanks for the great visit!!

My New Brochure

This is the new brochure I just made up for work. I dont know if its any good and its too hard to put pictures on it. and maybe I was kind of liberal with the "history" part. I make it sound like I have done a ton of building... 20 years worth!! Ha ha. any comments suggestions is appreciated.

We had so much fun that week and even got to celebrate Dan's b'day early with Lynne and the Elders. Thanks you so much for coming to see us!! We love you so much!!! Yesterdays Earthquake

Sunday was full of fun as we were awakened by a rumbling bed, and it wasnt Dan's Bowels! the whole house was shaking and we knew after a few minutes of shaking that this was one huge quake! It measured 6.5 on the richter scale. So all the electricity in Hilo went out and church was cancelled. We stayed home most of the day and played scrabble, taking pictures etc. Later in the day we went down the street to the ocean and took some more pictures.
